Package Contents

The EZTrack package contains the following Salesforce elements:

After Installing the Package

Once you've downloaded and installed the EZTrack package, follow these simple steps:

  1. Go into the Setup Area for your Salesforce org.
  2. Under "App Setup" click "Develop" → "Sites".
  3. If you don't already have a domain established for your Salesforce org, enter one here. Be careful here, though, because you can only do this once.
  4. Once you've determined that you like your domain name choice and it's available, agree to the Terms of Use and click the "Register My Force.com Domain" button. Copy the newly created Site Domain to your clipboard or write it down for future reference.
  5. Click the "New" button to set up a new site using your newly established domain.
  6. Enter the required information for the site (enter "EZTrackRedirect" for the Site Label and Site Name fields, check the "Active" box, and enter "EZTrackRedirect" for the Active Site Home Page field). Click the "Save" button once you're done.
  7. Under "App Setup" click "Create" → "Objects". Click into the "Click-Through" custom object and edit the "Click-Through Link" formula field. Replace the domain name in the formula with the domain for your Salesforce org and save your changes.
  8. Finally, make sure your "Site Guest User" account has the proper Time Zone established so that timestamps that appear in email notifications are accurate. To edit this user account, click on "App Setup" → "Develop" → "Sites", click on the "EZTrackRedirect" site and then the "Public Access Settings" button → "View Users" button. Here you can edit the "Site Guest User, EZTrackRedirect" account and change/verify the Time Zone set for this user.
  9. You're now ready to start using EZTrack. To do so, just toggle over to the EZTrack app in the upper-right corner of your screen, select the "Click-Throughs" tab, and click the "New" button to create a new Click-Through link.
  10. Just copy and paste the Click-Through link into an email message or webpage and you'll know whenever someone clicks on it. Enjoy!
